The Multiverse ZineNo. 03November 12, 2023

DevDay dropped. We rewrote the course.

Rebuilding for DevDay

OpenAI and Microsoft announcements pushed a rewrite of the Prompt Engineering course, and Blake Morse taught conference networking.

This issue is dressed as Corporate Goth

OpenAI and Microsoft launched a round of new technology, and the school responded by rearchitecting the Prompt Engineering course. The AI class turned to building OpenAI assistants dynamically using last week's agent-building agent, and to how agent types climb the chain of abstraction toward dynamically built swarms.

Blake Morse gave a free workshop on how to actually network at a conference: what to do, what to say, and how to meet your heroes. A new Content Creation program was announced, and Learn to Code covered turning a set of functions into objects.

The week's video list leaned on the OpenAI DevDay keynote and a run of swarm videos.

How to Actually Network at a Conference: Blake Morse: Free to All, not just Multiverse Students

On Wednesday, at 12 Pacific we have a special guest, Blake Morse, who will host an extended workshop on networking at conferences. Blake, with his background as the editor-in-chief of the internet's oldest video gaming website, has developed an extended network through in-person networking techniques. This session is open to all, whether you’re a Multiverse student or not. It’s free for everyone savvy enough to hop onto our server. Blake’s workshop will go over how to actually network at a conference, what to do and say, and how to get to meet your heroes and maybe even work with them.

Hey Multiverse Crew,

Woah, more techtonic shifts throughout the multiverse as OpenAI and Microsoft launch various landscape-changing technologies. We’re rearchitecting the Prompt Engineering Course in response. Also, a whole bunch of people applied! Yay! People like us, they really like us!

Here’s what’s happening:

AI Class (Prompt Engineering & Autonomous Agents)

On Tuesdays at 5PM is AI & Agents.

With the recent shift towards agents, we’ll be talking about how to build OpenAI assistants dynamically, using our agent-building-agent from last week. We’ll talk at a high level about agent types, and how to climb up the chain of abstraction, to build agent swarms dynamically, but that will be a code demo for next week.
