Log in. The portal is open.

Student Portal Opens

Students could log into a new school portal, a second burnout-prevention week ran, and the Agent Chatroom moved toward deployment.

This issue is dressed as Silicon Dreams

A student portal went live at themultiverse.school/login, where students can register interest in classes. The Programs page was updated again.

Burnout prevention week was judged productive, so a second one followed while Liz retooled the calendar. The Job Search Standup stayed paused.

Junior devs had built a SummaryBot for the Agent Chatroom and planned to deploy the chat server on Google Compute Engine. Senior devs groomed the sprint backlog and planned to dig into Langgraph. The research list included FamilyTraditions, TreeOfAttacks, Life Gamification, Community Automation and JASON.

3/3/24 Multiverse School Weekly Newsletter

Hey Multiverse Crew,

Burnout prevention week was pretty productive, and so I'm having another one! Partially because most folks are in Project Mode and I'm retooling the calendar.

Also, you can now log in to The Multiverse School.. Also we have again updated the Programs page.

Program Updates

There is an actual Portal now that students can log into and register interest in classes. Check it out.

Job Search Standup

This week, we're still taking a break from Job Searching. I'm recovering. I might come back next week but it may wait until after the Official Break in Mid-March.

Let me know here if you got a job, it helps me out and makes me want to keep doing this.

Learn to Code Bootcamp This Summer

I'm grouping everyone who needs to learn to code together this summer. We'll do a very structured walkthrough of the basics. I've got a page together describing the bootcamp program. I will likely tweak this bootcamp to include break weeks, so add 2 weeks to the final end date for you to experience your humanity during your one wild, short life.

Executives Program Invites Out... soon

Ah I didn't get this out. I got the page partly together, but got sidetracked trying to describe all the projects we have available to get involved with. You'll get something soon.

This week in class

Artificial Intelligence and Agents

Tool Use, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation are the main topics this week, because they get a lot of cross-talk from every other class. Also, hopefully, some Langgraph and bringing Everyone Into The Room with creation of their own Chat Server Agent.

Complex Adaptive Systems and Game Theory

The First Episode is Live

Read Part 1 (to page 33 of the book) of Finite and Infinite Games. Read chapter 3 and 4 of Game Theory - you do not need to deeply understand all of the math, but it may help to understand Bayes's Theorm in order to follow the math more easily.

This week, if y'all did the reading, we'll film- I'll find out on Monday.

Storytelling

Francina will be back this week, and is launching her own alchemy course. Buy her books to support her through Chaos, they are in earnest Very Good Books and you and several other folks would enjoy them. Multiverse students have a code to join her class for free [here)(https://publish.obsidian.md/themultiverseschool/School+Structure/Faculty/Francina+Simone).

Let's check in about progress, targets, and systems.

Dev tracks

Junior Devs

Last week we worked on the Agent Chatroom project. It's being chronicled on this page in order. We implemented a SummaryBot, and looked at Cloud Functions. This week, in order to move forward on most of the things we want to move forward on, we'll need to go ahead and Deploy our Chat Server, which is trickier and will involve using Google Compute Engine instead of Google App Engine / Cloud Run.

Senior Devs

Let's figure out the next phase of the Roadmap with another Sprint Backlog Grooming Session, then re-roadmap. We can discuss some higher-level architectural challenges we might be running into with the chatserver. We'll then make some plans around Multi-Agent Interactions.

Let's also please, please dig into Langgraph this week! I'm soooo excited

Research Teams

Currently I have the following projects on my radar. Please let me know if I have a project wrong.

  • FamilyTraditions: A cultural culinary archival project, group type, focusing on preserving Middle Eastern cultural culinary traditions. It uses OCR to digitize recipes and leverages ChatGPT for natural language processing to generate shopping lists and save details about recipes still in development, with a focus on portable, open storage mechanisms.

  • TreeOfAttacks - Network Compromise: A group project aimed at identifying and analyzing network vulnerabilities and attack vectors to develop defense and mitigation strategies.

  • TreeOfAttacks - Reverse Engineering: A group project focused on dissecting and understanding the inner workings of various software and systems to identify vulnerabilities and methods for enhancement.

  • Automated DM: A personal project for developing an automated direct messaging system to streamline communication processes.

  • Life Gamification: A personal project applying game design principles to everyday life for motivation and productivity enhancement.

  • Community Automation: A group project by Matthew and Al focused on creating moderation and community management bots in a chatroom environment.

  • JASON: A group project developing a Job Search tool that builds a custom resume for each job application, based on a comprehensive resume.json that includes all your duties and works.
