Ship it, then ride out on break

Shipped, Then Spring Break

The Agent Chatroom went to production, the second podcast episode went live, a student appeared on David Shapiro's podcast, and the school paused for a break.

This issue is dressed as Space Western

A ship-it push before the school's first monthly break (March 15 to 24). The junior devs deployed the Agent Chatroom to production, and senior devs moved on to database deployment and scaling.

Cam from the school was a guest on David Shapiro's podcast. The second episode of the Complex Adaptive Systems and Game Theory podcast also went live.

In the wargame, the red-team AI failed to compromise the XSS goat target, which Liz counted as good news for humanity. The Executives Program invites went out, and Storytelling became NarrativeCraft, tied to Francina Simone's new Midnight Scholar Society.

3/10/24 Multiverse School Weekly Newsletter

Hey Multiverse Crew,

Blessed Ostara and Rammadan Mubarak, and in two weeks it's Holi and Purim. It's the first day of Spring, and the Spring Equinox! Today you should begin to see the buds of promise from the seeds you have planted at the start of the year. This week we're doing more of a ship-it push before we go on break the week after. As a reminder, The Multiverse School will be closed from March 15-24th to begin our new monthly break schedule.

Our Very Own Cam was on David Shapiro's Podcast! They're our Cam and you can't have them, but you can borrow them for a short time.

Call your reps about The Tiktok Ban, because it's dumb and I also need TikTok to keep my small business going.

Also, you can now log in to The Multiverse School.. Also we have again updated the Programs page.

Program Updates

There is an actual Portal now that students can log into and register interest in classes. Check it out, let me know if you encounter any issues.

I have never been involved in a project that I hope fails before. This is weird.

Learn to Code Bootcamp This Summer

Here's the Learn to Code bootcamp. This will be a more structured, code-together program, so if you're looking for that, great. If you're still an unschooled chaos monster who has a hard time with due dates, joining at our $500/month option is still available. Talk to tag@themultiverse.school to see.

Executives Program

Invites are out! It's invite-only, but let me know if you want in and didn't get an invite at liz@themultiverse.school and I'll consider it, send me your linkedin if that's what you're looking for.

This week in class

Artificial Intelligence and Agents

Node.js OpenAI Tool Use Patterns & some ways to structure your prompts so as to get JSON.

Complex Adaptive Systems and Game Theory

The First Episode is Live The Second Episode is Live! It's a lot of me talking this time, it's sort of the pre-reading and introduction to the next set of readings.

We aren't filming this week because we filmed last week. Readings for next week: Chapter 5 of Plato: Team Reasoning and Conditional Games Part 2 of Finite and Infinite Games (No One Can Play Alone), pages 42-72 in the pdf

Storytelling is becoming NarrativeCraft

Storytelling is morphing into a new kind of thing. Many of you are working on your own personal narrative, and creating algorithms for both Gen AI and your own mind that will cue you to live in the story that you write, instead of the story others are writing for you. The goal of this next series (beginning March 27th, and now on Wednesdays) will be to craft, then step into your own Heroic Epic. This is in tandem with The Midnight Scholar Society, a new school Francina has begun! The Multiverse School incubates schools, and Francina's program is a school that's budding off of The Multiverse. Multiverse Travelers get access to The Midnight Scholar Society for free for this reason, but not for forever, so sign up now and be part of the inaugural scene.

CyberSecurity

Last week, The Thing That Shall Not Be Named was unable to successfully compromise the XSS goat, which is great news for humanity. Let's try to remedy this through jailbreaking of prompts.

I have never been involved in a project that I hope fails before. This is weird.
